As is traditional for Christmas, Albania could enjoy a new edition of Festivali i Këngës. This time, the winner was Jonida Maliqi, a singer born in Tirana in 1982. Jonida wowed everybody with her song "Ktheju tokës", a plea which talks about the hardships migrants go through. Jonida was confirmed as the representative of Albania in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.

2018 IN 50 SONGS
Throughout the year, Sounds European! has presented over 1600 songs. As it is our tradition, we have reviewed all of them and selected the 50 that we consider to be the best of the bunch. And now – until December 31st –, it's time to present our final list!
Paloma Faith's 2018 has been simply outstanding! Her album "The architect" was one of the best releases of the year, with several songs which are truly masterpieces. Among them, there is one which has taken a very special place in our hearts. We are as addicted to it as we were after the first listen, so we had no doubt choosing: "'Til I'm done" is our song of the year!
