We finish our Festival di Sanremo 2022 review with one of the songs that caught our attention the earliest. Ditonellapiaga (born Margherita Carducci in 1997 in Rome) and Donatella Rettore (born in Castelfranco Veneto in 1955) brought one of the most entertaining songs of the festival. "Chimica" is crazy, upbeat pop-rock with class and sass!

We continue our Festival di Sanremo 2022 digest with Elisa. The singer was one of the favorites to win, and ended up in second place with "O forse sei tu". The song is an emotional ballad with a beautiful instrument progression, wrapped up with Elisa's touching vocal power.

The first week of February is synonymous with one thing in Italy: Festival di Sanremo! This year, as usual, the line-up was a wide variety of artists, genres, and ages. And one of our highlights was La Rappresentante di Lista, who conquered us with their entry, "Ciao ciao". The song is funky, witty in its lyrics and will surely help you learn the parts of the body in Italian. Can we ask for more? We're totally hooked on it: it's our song of the week! Orietta Berti is the stage name of Orietta Galimberti, an Italian singer and television personality who was born in Cavriago in 1943. She has graced the stage of this year's Festival di Sanremo with the excellent "Quando ti sei innamorato". It's a very strong ballad, with an imposing vocal performance by Orietta. We love it to bits!

Luca Gaudiano is an Italian singer and songwriter who was born in Foggia in 1991. He has just won the Nuove Proposte segment of this year's Festival di Sanremo with "Polvere da sparo". And it was totally deserved! The song is an extremely delightful uptempo, with a great ambience and a very catchy melody.

Italy | Måneskin - "Zitti e buoni"

Måneskin were the big winners of this year's Festival di Sanremo! They conquered the trophy with a kind of song that is not your usual Sanremo winner: "Zitti e buoni", an edgy, raw rock that will surely energize your day. The song was later confirmed as Italy's representative for the 2021 Eurovision (you can check the Eurovision version clicking here).

Another edition of Festival di Sanremo, another entry by Annalisa. And honestly, we don't know what else she would have to do to finally win an edition of the festival. "Dieci" is – like all of her previous tries – an excellent song, and it would have also been an extremely worthy winner. She never fails on delivering high-quality music to the Italian audience.

This year's Festival di Sanremo was filled with outstanding solo female songs. And one of our favorites of the kind was Noemi's "Glicine". It's a marvelous ballad, which explores her voice in a unique manner. It's one of Noemi's greatest songs ever!

Italy | Gabriella Martinelli feat. Lula - "Il gigante d'acciaio"

Gabriella Martinelli is an Italian singer, songwriter and musician with origins in Apulia, born in 1986. Lula is the stage name of Lucrezia Di Fiandra, an Italian singer, songwriter and musician who was born in Rome in 1995. Gabriella and Lula got together for Sanremo's Nuove Proposte segment. Their song "Il gigante d'acciaio" didn't win the competition, but it totally won our hearts. It's stupendous!

France | Giordana Angi - "Come mia madre"

French-born Italian singer Giordana Angi was another new talent to try Festival di Sanremo this year. And her song was so emotional! "Come mia madre" is a piano-led song with a very powerful chorus.

Italy | Pinguini Tattici Nucleari - "Ringo Starr"

Pinguini Tattici Nucleari is a band formed in 2010 in the city of Bergamo. They recently took their music to the Festival di Sanremo stage, finishing third with the song "Ringo Starr". The track is a memorable piece of indie rock that will up your spirits in the blink of an eye!
