The end of the year is approaching. And on Sounds European!, this can only mean one thing: it's time to look back and remember some of the coolest artists and tracks we've listened during the past 12 months. We reviewed more than 1500 songs posted in 2016 and selected the 50 we consider the best ones – which will be presented to you until December 31st.

We are still in love with Raleigh Ritchie's single "Never better", which is surely one of our favorite songs of the year by now. So it was not a surprise that we also fell in love with his new release, "You're a man now, boy". It's another great track, with amazing ambience.

Raleigh Ritchie is the stage name of Jacob Anderson, actor and singer who was born in Bristol in 1990. His new single, entitled "Never better", is a great one. It has an involving mood, built by a special combination of voice and melody, and surely one of the coolest choruses of the year. The instrumentals, specially in the chorus, are a masterpiece on their own.
