Sweden | Ellen Benediktson - "Insomnia"

BRAND NEW

We follow Melodifestivalen quite closely, and we were very excited when we saw that Swedish singer Ellen Benediktson came back to the competition with a mega uptempo song. After the soft "Songbird" last year, she presented us "Insomnia", a marking and upbeat pop. Sadly she couldn't repeat the feat of arriving to the final.

Germany | Andreas Kümmert - "Heart of stone"

BRAND NEW

Andreas Kümmert has been in the eye of the storm during Unser Song für Österreich, the German National Final for Eurovision 2015. He was declared the winner with "Heart of stone" (we later knew he had won with 79% of the votes!), but then decided to withdraw his victory and pass it to Ann Sophie, the girl who had lost. Rumours about the reasons behind his withdrawal spread in every possible direction, yet there was no official confirmation of any. What we know is that the song is absolutely wonderful!

Italy | Deborah Iurato - "Libere"

BRAND NEW

Deborah Iurato's work is highly appreciated by the editors of Sounds European!. Anyway, her new single managed to impress us even more positively than the previous ones. "Libere" is a grandiose ballad with an extremely strong chorus. A kind of song which usually only very established divas of Italian music can produce. High-quality material!
