Time to check up on Romanian singer Jean Gavril! He has recently released "Nevinovat", a sensual ballad in which his raspy voice takes the central stage to drive us through a fantastic instrumentation.
Cleymans & Van Geel are a Belgian duo formed by Jelle Cleymans (Wilrijk, 1985) and Jonas Van Geel (Bierbeek, 1984). They've been together on stages for 15 years, performing covers of songs in Dutch, but now have finally released their first album together. From it, you can now enjoy the excellent "Tijgers". It's a very involving pop-rock song, with an explosive chorus that sticks to the head after a single listen.
Hurricane (also known as Hurricane Girls) are a Serbian girlband formed in 2017, consisting of Sanja Vučić, Ivana Nikolić and Ksenija Knežević. They had been selected to kind of return (kind of, as both Sanja and Ksenija, as a backing vocalist, were there before) to Eurovision, representing Serbia, before the show was cancelled. Their "Hasta la vista" is an exciting pop song with that unique vibe one can always expect from the best girlbands.
Aksel Kankaanranta is a 20-year-old singer hailing from Turku, Finland. He had recently been selected as the representative of his country for the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest, before it was cancelled, with the song "Looking back". The song is an intimate contemporary ballad that highlights Aksel's sweet voice.
It's time to remeet Kosovar-born singer Nevena Božović. She has just released a wonderful new single. It's "Nestajem s vetrom", a ballad that allows her to show all her vocal range and capability. It's amazing!
We couldn't finish reviewing this year's Eurovision National Finals season without talking about Neda Ukraden. The Croatian diva has rocked the stage of Beovizija (the Serbian selection show) with "Bomba". It's such a strong pop song, and Neda delivered it so well live!
Victoria Georgieva was announced as the Bulgarian representative for Eurovision before the turn of the year. But it wasn't until recently that we could get to listen to her entry. Even if the contest was cancelled, waiting for the song was worth it! "Tears getting sober" is a compelling minimalistic ballad that involves you with its fragile charm.
Lilo is the stage name of Laura Pizzoli, Italian singer, songwriter and musician who was born in 1991. Meet her with "Luce ovunque". It's a captivating mid-tempo song with great beats and a wonderful vocal performance.
Daði og Gagnamagnið are an Icelandic band formed by Daði Freyr Pétursson, Árný Fjóla Ásmundsdóttir, Sigrún Birna Pétursdóttir, Hulda Kristín Kolbrúnardóttir, Stefán Hannesson and Jóhann Sigurður Jóhannsson. They had recently won the Icelandic ticket for Eurovision (before its cancellation) with their song "Think about things", a tongue-in-cheek retro pop number. We grant you'll want to join the choreography in the chorus!
Benjamin Tsimalona Rosenbohm is a singer who was born in Berlin, Germany, in 2002, and currently lives in Denmark. Tanne Amanda Balcells was born in Spain, and moved to Denmark when she was two. They met during season 12 of The X Factor in Denmark (where Benjamin was the runner-up and Tanne, as a member of Echo, finished fourth). They've then gathered as Ben & Tan, and won Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, which had granted them the right to represent Denmark on Eurovision, before it was cancelled. Their "Yes" is a positive song with a very catchy melody.
