Time to check up on Danish singer Drew Sycamore! She is promoting her debut album, "Sycamore", with a fabulous lead single. "Jungle" is a noir pop that plays with retro synth beats to convey a captivating melody.
Two-time Sounds European!'s top 50 of the year (2017 and 2020) singer Vangelis Kakouriotis is back with a new single. We are talking about "Echo diko mou Theo". The song offers an exciting electronic synth-pop melody and a very marking chorus. We love it!
Rada Rai is the stage name of Elena Albertovna Gribkova, a Russian singer who was born in Magadan in 1979. She has just released a wonderful new single. It's "Veryu v goroskop", an inviting ballad with an effective melody and a great vocal performance.
We are now landing in Germany, to listen to a new release by Malik Harris. It's "Dance", a modern pop song with a speedy, addictive melody and a very strong chorus. We never get tired of affirming: Malik is an amazing artist!
Norwegian singer Sigrid is back with new music! She has just released "Mirror", a contagious synth-pop song in which she sings about accepting oneself in an uplifting melody. We are completely hooked: it's our song of the week!
Greek singer Giorgos Tsalikis has just released a new single. And once again, it's an excellent folk pop song! It's "Esy ti na mou peis". The melody is passionate and very characteristic, and the chorus is as Greek as one could ever be.
Joyce Jonathan returns to our site with a lovely new single. "Les p'tites jolies choses" is a call to enjoy, as the title suggests, the small things in life. The message is wrapped in a sweet, '50s-like melody that enhances Joyce's lovely voice.
Montenegrin singer Sergej Ćetković is back with new music! He has recently released "Kofer", a beautiful single which captures the essence of Balkan ethnic music.
Sounds European! has spent the day celebrating the 2020 (2021) Euro, which is about to have its kickoff tonight. We've seen songs celebrating the competition coming from Poland, Portugal and Denmark. And now, it's time to close our special day dedicated to the tournament with its official song.
Dutch DJ and producer Martin Garrix (Amstelveen, 1996) teamed up with U2 members Bono (Dublin, Ireland, 1960) and The Edge (Barking, United Kingdom, 1961) to create "We are the people". It's an uplifting song that mixes pop, rock and electronic sounds into a truly memorable track. We are surely gonna listen to this one a lot during the games!
Another country to have an official anthem for this year's Euro is Denmark. And the Danes went big! They offered a great meeting of one of the country's biggest bands, Alphabeat, with some of the players who will be competing in the tournament – and they are actually singing in it!
About the players' participation, Alphabeat say: "We are both honoured and thrilled that Kasper Schmeichel, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Yussuf Poulsen wanted to sing the first verse of 'Danmarks dynamite'. It was very important for us that the song wasn't just another Alphabeat-song but an anthem for our country from us and the players".
