United Kingdom | Silvertwin - "The night is ours"

BRAND NEW

Sounds European! remeets British band Silvertwin. They have just released a new single, entitled "The night is ours". If in other songs of theirs we could feel the references to The Beatles more present, with this one, it's Supertramp which we immediately recognize. It's so enjoyable!

"'The night is ours' is a song about the buzz you feel getting ready and going out for a night in London. Four on the floor drums. The plonky bassline is influenced by the one on 'Silly love songs' by Wings. The studio vibe was bouncing. Dan turned up jet-lagged and put down the guitar solo. Spread out around the studio, Lauric and Rado played the congas and I played the shaker in one take. It was the most fun track to record. We were trying to channel Nile Rodgers with the funky guitar. The bridges had me and Alicia overdub lots of harmonies to create the atmospheric feel", frontman Isaac Shalam says.

United Kingdom | Silvertwin - "Saviour"

BRAND NEW

British band Silvertwin has just released another amazing retro rock song. We are talking about their brand-new single "Saviour". It has that trademark Silvertwin sound that we are learning to love more and more!

According to the band's main-man, Isaac Shalam, the song "is heavy and energetic and takes inspiration from the more rocky ELO and Wings songs. The heavy lead and disco rhythm parts are intended to complement each other in the verse. The guitar solo was going through a unique 1950s tube console, which was not intended for guitars but gave it a distinctive sound which we loved".

United Kingdom | Silvertwin - "You only"

BRAND NEW

It's time to remeet British band Silvertwin. The London quintet have just announced their self-titled debut album for July. And while we anxiously wait for it, we have a new single to enjoy! It's the extremely sweet "You only".

"'You only' is the most '60s sounding song on the record, which is why we wanted to nail a '60s looking video. Our influences were The Beatles, The Monkees and The Beach Boys. We wanted it to feel like a mix of 'A hard day's night' and The Monkees' TV show. Our goal was to create something homemade and given the references, we decided to get a second-hand super-8 camera to shoot it on", says Isaac Shalam.

United Kingdom | Silvertwin - "Ploy"

RECENT

Silvertwin are a British band from London, formed by Isaac Shalam, and including Alicia Barisani, Dan Edery, Lauric Mackintosh and Antonio Naccache. Think of the best rock songs from the '60s and '70s, and then listen to "Ploy": the same spirit is present in it. We are having chills while listening to it, time after time!

"'Ploy' is kind of about the insecurity or paranoia that comes with a blooming relationship", says Shalam. "I suppose initially I thought of the riff as my attempt at trying to write something Beach Boys-esque by having simple chords but a bass line that moved back and forth. It was a new style of song-writing for me as up until then I'd mostly used guitar, but I wanted to begin using piano as the anchor for the songs I was working on at the time."
