The end of 2014 is approaching. And, as it happened on the last days of 2013, it's time for our review of the best we've listened throughout the year. Sounds European! looked back on the songs which were published here during this period – more than 1200 – and selected the 50 best ones (in the editors' opinions). Until December 31st, this top 50 will remember some of the coolest artists and tracks which were presented during the year.

50th place: United Kingdom | Years & Years - "Take shelter"

Italy | Modà feat. Emma - "Come in un film"

What happens when two of the biggest artists of a country gather to record a song? We are about to discover: "Come in un film" is the new single by the great Italian rock band Modà, which features the 2012 Festival di Sanremo winner Emma. It's actually a reunion, since they had already been together on the amazing "Arriverà". Their new song is as powerful and incisive as Italian rock can be!

Slovenia | Nino - "A je vse OK?"

Few Slovene artists are as open to different styles for their music as Nino is. His work embraces Latin flavor, such as on "Mi amor", some pop-rock, as on "Zvezdno nebo", and beautiful ballads, as "Simfonija". His new single "A je vse OK?" is more connected to the third one: a wonderful piano-based ballad which is just delightful to listen!

Denmark | Nabiha - "Animals"

Nabiha Bensouda, born in 1983 in Vesterbro, is one of the most talented singers of the current Danish music scene. She has some of the coolest singles of the last years in Denmark, such as "Never played the bass" and "Ask yourself". With "Animals", a very groovy song, she shows she is also very versatile in genres.

Croatia | Colonia - "Feniks"

RECENT

Croatian group Colonia and SE! first met ways in 2013, when they released "Anđele". They are now back with "Feniks", a single which is being extremely well succeeded in Croatia. We can easily understand why: the instrumentals are addictive, and the vocals are perfect!

Hungary | Gigi Radics - "Beauty sleep"

If you visit our blog often, you must have seen Gigi Radics before. And now she is with us back again upon the release of another great single: "Beauty sleep" is an upbeat pop track that will stick to your brain from the first listen!

Belgium | Ian Thomas feat. Nyanda - "Run away"

Ian Thomas was born in Antwerp in 1997. His short career has already rocketed to the stars in his native country, achieving high success with some of his previous singles. His latest one (which features Jamaican singer Nyanda) is "Run away", a soft pop with a deep beat of R&B. The video for the track was shot in the beautiful beaches of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - just to complete the worldwide mixture of the song!
