MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS

Next Sunday, we are having the 2021 edition of the MTV Europe Music Awards. It's going to take place at the László Papp Budapest Sports Arena, in Budapest, Hungary. And, keeping the tradition, Sounds European! takes this opportunity to review all the nominees who were shown on our site throughout the past year, and to celebrate their music.

As usual, we will divide this series in three parts. Now, we are listing the artists who are nominated for the main categories, who have been in our site during the past 12 months. On the following two parts, we are going to check the regional nominations.

BTS: best group, best pop, best K-pop and biggest fans.
Coldplay: best rock.
David Guetta (second post and third post): best electronic.
Dua Lipa (second post, third post and fourth post): best pop.
Ed Sheeran (second post and third post): best song, best video, best artist and best pop.
Griff: best new act and best Push Act.
Harry Styles (second post): video for good.
JC Stewart: best Push Act.
Joel Corry: best electronic.
Justin Bieber: best song (two songs nominated; one solo, one feat. The Kid LAROI), best video, best collaboration (feat. The Kid LAROI), best artist, best pop and biggest fans.

Little Mix (second post): best group.

Croatia | Lana.S - "Savjet odozgo"

Lana.S is the stage name of Lana Škrgatić, a Croatian singer, songwriter and musician who was born in Zagreb in 1980. Lana has just released "Savjet odozgo", and we couldn't be more into it. It's a haunting song with an impressive ambience and a great vocal performance.

North Macedonia | Leonora Poloska - "Pse"

Leonora Poloska is a Macedonian singer who was born in Skopje in 1982. Meet her with her latest single, "Pse". It's a very entertaining folk pop song with a great energy and a catchy melody.

Georgia | Valery Meladze - "Polyubil"

Sounds European! remeets Georgian superstar Valery Meladze. He has just released a new single, entitled "Polyubil". It's a strong song with imposing instrumentals and a great vocal performance.

Romania | Delia - "Între noi"

We travel to Romania for our song of the week: Delia is back with a banger! She has recently released "Între noi", a raw ballad with a minimalistic first part, which is pulled forward by her impressive interpretation. The second part wraps up the concept of the song with a slightly bigger instrumentation, still retaining its force in Delia's vocals.

United Kingdom | James Blunt - "Unstoppable"
