Next Sunday, we are having the 2021 edition of the MTV Europe Music Awards. It's going to take place at the László Papp Budapest Sports Arena, in Budapest, Hungary. And, keeping the tradition, Sounds European! takes this opportunity to review all the nominees who were shown on our site throughout the past year, and to celebrate their music.

As usual, we will divide this series in three parts. Now, we are listing the artists who are nominated for the main categories, who have been in our site during the past 12 months. On the following two parts, we are going to check the regional nominations.

BTS: best group, best pop, best K-pop and biggest fans.
Coldplay: best rock.
David Guetta (second post and third post): best electronic.

Ed Sheeran (second post and third post): best song, best video, best artist and best pop.
Griff: best new act and best Push Act.
Harry Styles (second post): video for good.
JC Stewart: best Push Act.
Joel Corry: best electronic.
Justin Bieber: best song (two songs nominated; one solo, one feat. The Kid LAROI), best video, best collaboration (feat. The Kid LAROI), best artist, best pop and biggest fans.
Lil Nas X: best song, best video, best collaboration (feat. Jack Harlow), best artist and video for good.
Little Mix (second post): best group.
Måneskin (second post, third post, fourth post and fifth post): best group and best rock.
Olivia Rodrigo (second post): best song, best new act, best pop and best Push Act.
The Kid LAROI: best song (feat. Justin Bieber), best collaboration (feat. Justin Bieber), best new act and best Push Act.
The Weeknd: best collaboration (feat. Ariana Grande, shown below) and best artist.
YUNGBLUD (second post): best alternative.
