Dima Trofim was born in Chișinău, the capital of Moldova, in 1989. He was the finalist of the reality show Star Factory in 2009, and has not stopped since then. His latest single is simply superb. "Cresesc iubire" is a very cool pop-rock that conquered the managers of Sounds European!: it became the song of the week!

Slovenia | FaušDur Band feat. Dare Kaurič - "Čisto na dnu"

From Northern Slovenia, we meet FaušDur Band, who is hitting the national radio charts with a song featuring Dare Kaurič, singer from the city of Idrija. "Čisto na dnu" is a greatly instrumented single, with beautiful vocals. It sounds very epic!

Glennis Grace, stage name for Glenda Hulita Elisabeth Batta, is a Dutch singer who was born in Amsterdam in 1978. She represented the Netherlands on the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, with "My impossible dream". Her new single "Zeg maar niks" is a beautiful ballad.

Greece | Pantelis Pantelidis - "Na sou po"

Athens-born Pantelis Pantelidis was already featured in our blog with the single "Tetia agapi den axizo". Now, he is back with us for another superb track. United Kingdom | Calvin Harris feat. Ellie Goulding - "Outside"

It's not the first time the producer and DJ Calvin Harris and the singer Ellie Goulding join forces and record a song. With "I need your love", it was a huge success. Now, with "Outside", it seems the result will be as positive as with the previous single. This new song is incredibly catchy, and the mix of instrumentals, strong beats and Ellie's unique voice makes it all very special.

It's an interesting mix of electronic and pop-rock, spiced up with several traditional Turkish elements. The result is unique and quite enjoyable, making it our song of the week.

Sweden | Carola - "Tell me this night is over"

Carola Häggkvist is one of the most important names of Swedish music and of Eurovision Song Contest. She took part of the contest on three occasions, in three different decades (1983, 91 and 2006), having won in 1991. Currently, she is participating in the fifth season of the reality show Så Mycket Bättre, where famous singers make versions for each other's biggest hits. We now present her very cool cover for "Tell me this night is over", originally performed by Ola Salo, vocalist of the band The Ark (which also went to Eurovision, in 2007).

Netherlands | The Elementary Penguins - "Magic"

Ireland is so different that their new boyband has six guys singing instead of five. And let us tell you, they sound fantastic! Josh Gray, Dean Gibbons, Brendan Murray, Cian Morrin, Dayl Cronin and Ryan McLoughlin are managed by the legendary manager Louis Walsh, who is also responsible for the music of Boyzone and Union J. HomeTown's (that's the name of the new band, by the way) first single is called "Where I belong", and if you like boybands, you will not be disappointed!

Despite being born in Sarajevo, Boris Novković developed his career mostly in Croatia. He even represented Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, together with Lado singing "Vukovi umiru sami", which ended 11th in the final. Not long ago, we met the Danish band Scarlet Pleasure with the groovy "Under the palm trees". Now, it's time to check their brand-new single "The strip". The song has a very classy retro feeling. It's impossible not to dance along its catchy melody! The clip, which basically shows the boys of the band having genuine fun in LA, fits it all perfectly. It's a great track to improve anyone's mood, specially for a Saturday night out. So enjoy it before going out tonight: it's our song of the week.

We love him here on Sounds European!, so we were very happy with the news of his releasing a new single: now, we can finally write a post about him! It took long, but the wait was worth. "Hear me as I am" is a great song, one of those pop tracks which slowly grows, but then explodes in an extremely catchy chorus.

As we did with the "adult" contest in May, Sounds European! will review the best songs competing in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Marsa, Malta, on November 15th.

Easily the grooviest contestant of this year's Junior Eurovision is Betty, the Armenian representant. She was born in 2003 and has become one of the most popular children in Armenian media. Her song is a blast of happiness: "People of the Sun" is extremely fun and catchy!

Malta | Federica Falzon - "Diamonds"

As we did with the "adult" contest in May, Sounds European! will review the best songs competing in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Marsa, Malta, on November 15th.

The little girl with the big voice. Lyric singer Federica Falzon, born in Safi in 2003 (nope, I didn't make any mistake with the date) will represent the hosting nation Malta. Among previous recordings of hers, we have Eurovision hits like "Flower of the South" and "La voix". The song she'll sing is "Diamonds", a chilling operatic pop ballad.

Nadezhda Misyakova was born in Minsk in 2000. She has been part of the Zaranak ensemble at the National Centre for Musical Arts in Minsk, as well as taken part twice of the Belarusian selection for the Junior Eurovision before. The song she'll sing in Malta will be "Sokol", a beautiful ethnic pop track.

Ah, Swedish pop in miniature - could this be any cuter? Julia Kedhammar was born in Skogås in 2000. She won the ticket to Malta after winning the Junior Melodifestivalen 2014 with "Du är inte ensam", a very cool uptempo song.

Born in 2000 in a small town near Naples, Vincenzo Cantiello will be the first Italian representative on Junior Eurovision. Don't be tricked by his youth: he has a voice to conquer hearts. His song, "Tu primo grande amore", is a real proof of his potential.

Born in Leningrad-Oblast in 2003, Alisa Kozhikina is full of freckles and full of voice. The winner of The Voice Kids earlier this year will represent Russia with a powerful ballad titled "Dreamer". It will surely stick in your head!

Ukraine | Sympho-Nick - "Pryyde vesna"

As we did with the "adult" contest in May, Sounds European! will review the best songs competing in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Marsa, Malta, on November 15th.

Marta Rak, Sofia Kutsenko and Amaliia Kryms'ka met in Music Academy of Eurovision, and became very good friends with each other. Together they make up Sympho-Nick, a girl trio which will sing "Pryyde vesna", a very cool ethnic pop song.

Serbia | Emilija Djonin - "Svet u mojim očima (World in my eyes)"

Emilija Djonin was born in Vrsac in 2000. She has been a passionate for music since a very young age, and she even took part in the Serbian version of Got Talent in 2011. Her song, "Svet u mojim očima (World in my eyes)", is a very nice pop-rock ballad.

Netherlands | Julia van Bergen - "Around"

Born in Harderwijk in 1999, Julia van Bergen will be flying the Dutch flag in Malta. She won the popular Junior Songfestival with "Around", a very simple yet really cool and catchy pop song.

Cyprus | Sophia Patsalides - "I pio omorfi mera"

Sophia Patsalides was born in Nicosia in 2000. She has been singing since a very young age, and has developed an interesting career as a guest on numerous TV shows. She will be flying the Cypriot flag with "I pio omorfi mera", a very uplifting pop song.

Russia | Lena Katina - "Who I am"

The first time SE!'s and the Russian singer Lena Katina's ways met was last year, when she released the very enjoyable "Lift me up". The second time, now, is even more grandiose! Her new single "Who I am" has fascinated us in the best way possible. The melody is exciting, the singing is perfect for it, and the chorus is as addictive as one can imagine. We are in love: it's our song of the week.

United Kingdom | James Bay - "Hold back the river"

James Bay was born in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. His latest single is titled "Hold back the river", and is a great show of all his vocal power and the delicate music which characterizes him. You will totally fall in love!

Slovenia | Darja Švajger - "Sončen dan"

Few artists in the Slovene music scene are as important and as grandiose as Darja Švajger. Born in 1965 in the city of Maribor, Darja is internationally known by her two participations on the Eurovision Song Contest (in 1995, which is up-to-date the best result ever for Slovenia in the competition, and 99). Darja's new single, the beautiful ballad "Sončen dan", has just won the very traditional song festival Slovenska Popevka in the public voting section. It's her first victory with the audience – in 2010, she had won the jury section.

Ukraine | Julia Dumanska - "Mama, prosti"

Time to remeet Julia Dumanska, whom we met before in June with the great "Tanya". Here she comes with her latest single, "Mama, prosti", a fantastic soothing pop track of those we so like from Ukraine!

Some months ago, we showed you the work of Tommaso Pini with "La perfezione non c'è". The Italian chap keeps releasing great singles, as the one below: "Sweet dreams" is a haunting turn to the smashing hit by Eurythmics. Truly one to check!

North Macedonia | Lambe Alabakovski - "Dojdi mi"

RECENT

It's not the first time Sounds European! shows the work of 26-year-old (almost 27) singer Lambe Alabakovski, from the Macedonian city of Bitola. Some months ago, we listened to the great Balkan ballad "Ke te cekam jas". Now, he is back with "Dojdi mi", a song which is a bit more uptempo, and has a very cool chorus.

Russia | Melnitsa - "Kontrabanda"

BRAND NEW

It's not often that you meet a Russian folk act. Specially Melnitsa, who have been together since 1999, forging a great and prolific music career. Their latest single is called "Kontrabanda", and it is an explosion of sweet sounds, a beautiful voice and a really soothing melody to convey one of the greatest tracks to emerge from Russia this year.

Germany | Mrs. Greenbird - "Everyone's the same"

BRAND NEW

Mrs. Greenbird is a German duo from Cologne, formed by Sarah and Steffen. They present a very entertaining country song with "Everyone's the same". Simple, but extremely effective.

Italian singer Antonella Lo Coco, from the city of Palermo, rose to fame after being third place on the fifth season of the Italian version of The X Factor. North Macedonia | Sarah Mace - "Nambareja"

Born in 1990 in the capital city of North Macedonia, Skopje, meet the very talented singer Sarah Mace. Her brand-new single "Nambareja" presents a very interesting mix of classy instrumentals, deep singing and precisely growing melody.

Russia | Timur Rodriguez - "S dnem rozhdeniya"

Her new single "Dipendenza" shows all her style and quality, in a very groovy pop song.

As previously said, Russian-born singer Helene Fischer is one of the biggest and most important names of the German music scene. Dawid Podsiadło, Tomek Szuliński, Tomek Skuta, Oskar Bała and Damian Lis make up Curly Heads, a Polish band formed in 2011. Their latest single is just mind-blowing: "Reconcile" is a very cool revival of the old school British rock. The editors of Sounds European! liked it so much that it became the song of the week!

Denmark | Too Young To Die - "Patrick Swayze"

Time to meet the Danish duo Too Young To Die, formed by Erwin Thomas and Troels Holdt. Their new single "Patrick Swayze" is simply stupendous! It takes us back in time, to the best dance songs of past decades. Catchy, groovy, well-sung... it's impossible not to love it!

Finland | Neon 2 - "Kaunis"

BRAND NEW

Here we have another single to come out of the Finnish reality show We Want More. Neon 2, whose last album was released in 1995, came back on track with "Kaunis", a very cool pop-rock song. It will for sure stick to your ears!

Germany | Tokio Hotel - "Love who loves you back"

BRAND NEW

Tokio Hotel are one of the greatest bands of Germany. They were founded in Magdeburg in 2001, and have reached success (and the charts) in many European countries. They have just released their new album, "Kings of suburbia", which includes the new single "Love who loves you back". It's a very cool electronic song.
